THE COGNITIVE LAB: MANAGING MULTIPLE DEMANDS
Presented by: Melissa Klindtworth
Interpreters must simultaneously process incoming language, monitor their output, and make ongoing linguistic decisions. This workshop explores the cognitive demands of interpreter multitasking through discourse analysis, metacognitive reflection, and intentional decision-making activities. Participants will examine how discourse markers, message hierarchy, and strategic omissions support effective interpretation.
This workshop will be presented in spoken English.
