Understanding the Emotional Support Needed for Deaf and Hard of hearing Children

This session is designed for school counselors and behavior specialist working with deaf and hard of hearing children and will focus on understanding which supports effectively build emotional intelligence. This will focus on common challenges and barriers that deaf and hard of hearing children typically face, how to provide effective support during different phases of development, and how to work effectively in both one-on-one and group settings.

Allies – Deaf and Hearing Partnership

This course will focus on how to build partnership between deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing individuals through addressing language barriers and cultural differences, and through providing resources for ally-ship. This workshop will provide information beneficial to both the educational and home environment, and is aimed at providing educators the tools to build open communication and empathy for deaf and hard of hearing children and those who work with them.
